Aperçu

Algeria issues biometric passports through the Ministry of Interior and local communal services (APC). The required photo is 35x45mm on a plain white background, and applicants normally supply two identical prints. The head should run about 32 to 36mm from chin to crown with at least 3.5mm of space above the hair. Photos must be recent, in colour, and show a neutral face looking straight ahead.

A plain white background with even lighting and no shadows or texture.

Exigences

  • Produce the photo at 35x45mm, or 413x531 pixels at 300 DPI.
  • Use a plain white background free of shadows and patterns.
  • Provide two identical prints when applying in person.
  • Keep the head centred and squared to the camera.
  • Hold a neutral expression with the mouth closed and eyes open.
  • Keep head height between roughly 32 and 36mm from chin to hair.
  • Leave at least 3.5mm of clearance above the top of the head.
  • Use a colour photo taken within the last six months.

Raisons courantes de rejet

  • Backgrounds that are coloured, grey, or shadowed.
  • Non-neutral expressions such as smiling or frowning.
  • Hair, hands, or accessories covering part of the face.
  • Eyes obscured by glare, tinted lenses, or thick frames.
  • Head too small, too large, or off-centre in the frame.
  • Stale or digitally altered photographs.

Conseils

  • Print two matching copies before your APC appointment so you are not short.
  • Use daylight or two soft lamps to keep the white background clean.
  • Tie back long hair so the face outline and eyes stay clear.
  • Skip jewellery and glasses that can reflect or cast shadows.
  • Confirm the head fills enough of the frame without cropping the hairline.
