Aperçu

Bahrain passports and ID cards are issued by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) under the Ministry of Interior, with services on the bahrain.bh portal. The reference size used here is 35x45mm at 413x531 pixels. The photo must be a recent colour image with the face front-facing and clearly lit. Religious coverings like the hijab or ghutra are allowed when the face stays fully visible, and prescription glasses are accepted as long as there is no glare and the eyes show clearly.

A plain white background with no shadows, patterns, or items behind the subject.

Exigences

  • Use the 35x45mm size at 413x531 pixels, taken within the last six months.
  • Keep the background plain white with even lighting and no shadows.
  • Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and mouth closed.
  • Keep both eyes open and visible, with no hair blocking them.
  • Head should fill roughly 70 to 80 percent of the frame height.
  • Religious head coverings are accepted if the whole face is visible.
  • Prescription glasses are allowed if there is no glare or tint.
  • Supply a colour image at 300 DPI with true skin and hair tones.

Raisons courantes de rejet

  • Any background colour other than plain white.
  • Sunglasses, tinted lenses, or glare hiding the eyes.
  • Smiling or any non-neutral facial expression.
  • Shadows on the face or behind the head.
  • Head covering that hides the chin, forehead, or sides of the face.
  • Blurred, low resolution, or edited photographs.

Conseils

  • Use soft daylight to keep the white background clean and even.
  • Stand away from the wall to avoid casting shadows.
  • If you keep glasses on, angle slightly to clear any reflection.
  • Pull hair back so both eyes and the face outline are visible.
  • Aim for at least 300 DPI so the print stays sharp.
