Peru requires a 35x45 mm (413x531 pixels at 300 DPI) passport photo with a plain white background, administered by the Registro Nacional de Identificación y Estado Civil (RENIEC) in coordination with the Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones. RENIEC offices capture photos on-site for domestic applications using standardized biometric equipment, and applicants typically cannot supply their own photos. For applications at Peruvian consulates abroad, applicants must provide their own compliant photos. The face must be shown in frontal view with neutral expression, and glasses are not permitted.

- For domestic applications, photos are captured at RENIEC or Migraciones offices, so arrive with clean, neat appearance
- For consular applications abroad, find a photo studio familiar with ICAO biometric standards
- Wear a dark, solid-colored shirt for contrast against the white background
- Remove all jewelry and earrings before arriving at the RENIEC office
- Arrive with hair arranged away from the face and forehead for quick on-site photo capture
