Aperçu

Venezuela's passports are issued by SAIME, the Servicio Administrativo de Identificacion, Migracion y Extranjeria, the only authority allowed to issue Venezuelan passports. While SAIME's domestic capture is biometric, the widely accepted print photo standard is 35x45mm on a pure white background. The picture must be very recent and show a clear, neutral frontal view. Use full colour with sharp focus and accurate skin tones.

A pure white background with no patterns, shadows, or objects; cream or off-white is not accepted.

Exigences

  • Photo size must be 35x45mm (413x531 pixels at 300 DPI).
  • Background must be pure white, not cream or off-white.
  • Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and eyes open.
  • Recent photo, ideally taken within the last 3 months.
  • Full colour image with natural tones and even lighting.
  • No shadows on the face or behind the head.
  • Centre the head so the whole face shows from crown to chin.
  • Remove glasses and hats unless needed for verified medical or religious reasons.

Raisons courantes de rejet

  • Off-white, cream, coloured, or shadowed background.
  • Smiling or any non-neutral expression.
  • Eyes closed or hidden, or reflection on glasses.
  • Photo older than a few months that no longer matches your look.
  • Blurry, dark, or low-resolution image.
  • Sunglasses, hats, or items covering the face.

Conseils

  • Use a true white wall or backdrop, since off-white shades get rejected.
  • Take the photo recently, as SAIME expects a current likeness.
  • Stand far enough from the backdrop to avoid any cast shadow.
  • Light the face evenly from the front for flat, neutral exposure.
  • If a printed copy is needed, some offices ask for the photographer to sign the back.
