Algeria issues biometric passports through the Ministry of Interior and local communal services (APC). The required photo is 35x45mm on a plain white background, and applicants normally supply two identical prints. The head should run about 32 to 36mm from chin to crown with at least 3.5mm of space above the hair. Photos must be recent, in colour, and show a neutral face looking straight ahead.

Print two matching copies before your APC appointment so you are not short.
Use daylight or two soft lamps to keep the white background clean.
Tie back long hair so the face outline and eyes stay clear.
Skip jewellery and glasses that can reflect or cast shadows.
Confirm the head fills enough of the frame without cropping the hairline.
