Canada requires a larger 50x70mm passport photo, distinct from the 35x45mm format used by most countries, reflecting specifications set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Photos must be taken by a commercial photographer or at an approved facility, and each print must include the photographer's stamp, name, address, and the date taken on the reverse side. Canada's guarantor system also requires that one of the two submitted photos be signed on the back by a recognized guarantor who can confirm the applicant's identity.
