Огляд

Guatemala passports are issued by the Instituto Guatemalteco de Migracion. For applications handled through consulates and many photo services, the photo follows the 35x45mm format on a plain white background. The image must be recent, taken within the last six months, and printed in colour with natural skin tones. Two identical prints are commonly requested at the counter.

A flat, even white backdrop with no shadows, gradients, or texture behind the head.

Вимоги

  • Photo size of 35x45mm printed in full colour, not black and white.
  • Plain white background that is evenly lit and free of shadows.
  • Taken within the last six months so it reflects your current appearance.
  • Neutral expression with the mouth closed and both eyes open.
  • Head squared to the camera, face centred and fully visible.
  • No hats or head coverings unless worn daily for religious reasons, and the face stays clear.
  • Glasses off where possible; if medically needed, no glare and eyes must show.
  • Sharp focus, correct exposure, and no digital editing of the features.

Поширені причини відмови

  • Coloured, patterned, or shadowed background instead of plain white.
  • Smiling, frowning, or an open mouth that breaks the neutral look.
  • Hair, glasses frames, or a head covering hiding part of the face.
  • Photo older than six months or showing an outdated appearance.
  • Blurry, pixelated, over- or under-exposed image.
  • Head tilted or turned away from the camera.

Поради

  • Stand about a metre from the wall to keep shadows off the background.
  • Wear a colour that contrasts with white so your shoulders stay defined.
  • Tie hair back so it does not cross your eyes or jaw line.
  • Use soft, even lighting on both sides of the face.
  • Bring two prints since the office often keeps a spare.
