Malaysia requires a 35x45 mm (413x531 pixels at 300 DPI) passport photo with a white or light blue background, administered by the National Registration Department (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, JPN) and the Immigration Department. Malaysia is one of the few countries that accepts a light blue background as an alternative to white. All Malaysian passports are biometric, and photos must comply with ICAO standards. Muslim women must wear a tudung (hijab) that covers the hair while keeping the face fully visible. The ears must be visible for non-hijab-wearing applicants.
